Pretty in Purple

Our client wanted over-the-top bedrooms for both her daughters. This room is for the younger sister who is 5 years old. The goal was to make them fun and cheery!

Project Overview:

Little sister likes to hide things and applies stickers to everything. We had to make sure the design included space for her special things, and was a little more wear-resistant.

Pretty in Purple

Her furniture included a full size dresser and a full size adult metal bed but the room was not large enough for the over-sized furnishings.

We started by having the antique metal bed re-painted white and upholstered, also removing the foot-board to make more space. Because she still needed more space for furniture, Bonnie decided to design an awning valance, instead of long sheer drapery like for her sister’s bedroom window. (She loves to imitate her sister!) Her bed skirt is layers and layers of purple, lime, and pink tulle…. fluffed out like a ballerina skirt!

Our wall mural incorporated the butterflies for the fun, whimsical little girl.
